MAKE CITY 2018 STUDIO TALK: UNBUILDING WALLS
On Wednesday, June 20th 2018 GRAFT will host a Studio Talk about “Unbuilding Walls”, the German contribution to the 16th international architecture Exhibition in Venice 2018 as a part of the Make City Festival at their office in Berlin.
With the exhibition “Unbuilding Walls”, GRAFT founding partners Lars Krückeberg, Wolfram Putz and Thomas Willemeit together with Marianne Birthler, respond to current debates on nations, protectionism and division.
In that context chosen projects will be presented to portrait the effects of division and the process of healing as a dynamic spatial phenomenon and focuses on architectural projects in the former death strip. Among them is the Berlin Wall Memorial, which counts to the few places, where the original structures are mostly preserved.
