Smooth forms, fluent aesthetics and design for the future:
Bombay Sapphire and GRAFT celebrate „Bombay Fusion“

On march, 27th, Bombay Sapphire presented the year’s unique design object for the Blue Collection: „Bombay Fusion“ – a stylish bar, exclusively designed by Germany’s most unconventional architects of the moment: GRAFT from Berlin.

Inspired by the Premium-Gin’s fluent movements, GRAFT created a fascinating object that is freeing the bar from its original functionality and staging it as eye-catching piece of art. The dynamic arrangement of 182 pieces of acryl creates impressive progressive forms and is at the same time a reference to the 182 carat of the sapphire “Star of Bombay”, source of inspiration for the naming of Bombay Sapphire. “Bombay Fusion” looks different from every perspective and provides surprising insights – as diverse as the facets of a sapphire. Because of these characteristics “Bombay Fusion” illustrates the Design standards as well as the personality of Bombay Sapphire and, moreover, pursues a communicative approach: the bar is meeting point and encourages human relationships.

GRAFT about their object: „With ‚Bombay Fusion’ we catch the fluent movements of the Premium-Gin and give them a new a new sculptural form. The object is the expression and our interpretation of the “principle of receptacle and content” and comes here to live in one single form.”
On march, 27th, Bombay Sapphire presented “Bombay Fusion” for the first time to the public. With selected guests from Hamburg’s creative, design and fashion scene as well as design interested VIP’s the unique design object was celebrated in the super modern Prototyp-Lofts in the emerging area of Hamburg’s harbour. Cool Bombay Sapphire drinks and a very exquisite flying dinner made the evening an unforgettable experience for the about 500 guests.
After the official launch “Bombay Fusion” was part of a touring exhibition, the Bombay Sapphire Design Nights in cooperation with the Stilwerk. It started in May in Hamburg, “Bombay Fusion” was then displayed also in the stilwerk in Berlin and Düsseldorf.
