In May 2018, a new monument championing Berlin’s spirit of freedom stands in front of the entrance to Berlin Central Station facing Washingtonplatz. The monument takes the form of the “be Berlin” campaign hashtag #FREIHEITBERLIN (FREEDOMBERLIN) in huge letters.

In a study commissioned by KfW Bankengruppe, GRAFT identified several approaches to reducing construction costs by up to 30% compared with the cost of a comparable National Housing Enterprise unit.
The German urban air taxi company Volocopter has developed the ﬁrst fully electronic, autonomous vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), an ideal solution for use in urban areas. Together with GRAFT and Arup, the Berlin agency GRAFT Brandlab won the competition to design a modular vertiport concept for Volocopter.

The Uco Valley in the province of Mendoza is located in the foothills of the majestic Andes Mountains. Wine produced in this region is considered among the best in Argentina. In this context, GRAFT was commissioned to design a unique location dedicated to wine production, based on the AQUI brand’s philosophy of bringing people together through wine. To underline this, the winery also offers guest accommodation developed around the idea of creating rituals for a community brought together by their passion for wine.

As part of the development of the northern Ahrensfelder Chaussee on the outskirts of Berlin, GRAFT planned a new residential district that will provide space for up to 2,200 people in 750 housing units.
Driver assistance systems, including automatic parking, traffic sign recognition and automatic distance control are increasingly common in today’s cars. The new ‘Ausfahrt’ at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg offers visitors an opportunity to try out these and other technical assistance systems in models manufactured by Volkswagen to help ensure safer driving in road traffic. With an area of 15,000 square metres, the new driving attraction was built in ten months and opened in August 2013.
In Berlin, on the site of “Urbane Mitte” between eastern and western part of Gleisdreieck Park, a mobile brewery and beer garden designed by GRAFT has been erected in summer 2016. The building volume of BRLO BRWHOUSE combines gastronomy, events, administration and the art of brewery and is remarkable for its container architecture in modular design.
The Bayerhaus, a seven-story office block built as the administrative center of the Bayer pharmaceutical company in the early 1950s, was one of the first post-World War II buildings to be erected in West Berlin. It is now set to receive an extra story and a new side wing. In addition, the façade facing the rear yard, which was cladded with fiber cement plates in the 1980s, will be removed and re-rendered, restoring its original appearance, with its grid-like relief and large window openings.
Representative party venue, company guest house, and luxury private apartment – these are the varying functions that the showroom for a large-scale development of high-end condominiums needed to fulfil. To this end, GRAFT developed a flexible plan, dominated by a dynamic sculptural element that separates the private rooms from the public reception areas. Semi-transparent spatial dividers, carved in traditional Chinese lattice patterns, can be used to quickly partition off the space for intimate family functions or to open it up for entertaining.
Transitional fossils are evolutionary biological organisms featuring characteristics of two groups of living beings. However, they are not straightly related to these two groups, they could even be close relatives. Therefore, transitional fossils are also titled intermediate form or transitional form. Thus, they are organisms which unite characters of phylogenetic older and phylogenetic younger biological groups.
