The Juke Box, with its temporary, modular, lightweight event space, creates a new landmark and cultural hub in the neighborhood. By temporarily occupying a vacant lot, it becomes an attractive space that the city's residents can appropriate in new ways through expanded uses.
The lightweight event architecture consists of a modular framework that incorporates an enclosed event space and two elevated roof terraces. This creates a space that can be used for a variety of events.
The textile outer skin extends into the third dimension and, in conjunction with a coordinated lighting concept, gains spatial depth and relief.
