Heimat2 at German Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale

The concept for Heimat2 that GRAFT developed with further project partners is now part at the exhibition “Making Heimat. Germany, Arrival Country” in the German Pavilion at this years’ Biennale di Architettura in Venice.

Heimat2 is presented along with all projects that took part in the Berlin Award 2016 this spring. The German Senate Department for Urban Development and Environment in cooperation with the German Architecture Museum (Deutsches Architekturmuseum) called for entries this year under the motto “Heimat in der Fremde” (home in foreign land) and therefore honored innovative projects that present an accommodation for refugees, as well as improvements in life quality, and the connectedness into the urban development.

The project Heimat2 does not have the claim to just build dwelling places, but to create quality residential villages that are architecturally appealing and socially integrative. The first building will be realized in 2016 in Berlin. Heimat2 is also working on other solutions on an international level.
