A pioneering, sustainable project is currently under construction at Karlsbad in Berlin, featuring a mixed-use development combining residential and office space. GRAFT's design unites two listed historic buildings and two new buildings to create a vibrant interconnected campus.
GRAFT completes the prestigious development with a new building ensemble. The context-specific architecture repairs and reinforces the urban block structure while respectfully continuing the history of the listed historic buildings.

The new volumes will directly adjoin the current Feuersozietät building from 1936 and expand southwards as far as Bissingzeile, utilizing an area formerly designated as a parking lot. Through joining the historical building with the new volumes, a campus with internal pathways and four greened courtyards will be created. Each courtyard will have its own identity, with the large courtyard of the existing building forming the heart of the campus.

In the southwest, along Bissingzeile, the block perimeter is also completed. However, here the historical, meandering logic of the projecting and receding building volumes is adopted and further developed. This creates distinct addresses, entrances, and "front gardens" that maintain the scale of the residential street.
