Honorable mention for Loft Hausvogteiplatz at the International Design Awards 2014
The interior design of this Berlin loft is mainly characterized by the dynamic lines of the open, bright space and the shape of the customized dark cubes. Intimate and serving features, such as bathrooms, the dressing room and the kitchen, are situated inside of and around the cubes. Due to their wooden surfaces, the cubes seem like pieces of furniture – the traditional fragmentation of spaces through dividing walls become obsolete.
The axes of the loggias towards the square in front of the building form the starting point for the dynamics of the flowing interior. In order to visually support the sharp lines of the cubes, all paintings or power outlets were integrated into the walls of the cubes. The staircase from the loft to the upper floor/ roof terrace is decorated with an individual and personal ceiling mural.
