International Architecture Award 2016 goes to Old Mill Hotel by GRAFT

We are very delighted that our project Old Mill Hotel in Serbia received the International Architecture Award 2016. Organized by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the awards honor new and cutting-edge design.

The Old Mill Hotel presents the transformation of a historic building into a four star hotel. The overall interior concept of re-contextualization fuses the local heritage and the contemporary design into a singular whole: through grafting between old and new, the spirit of the Old Mill lives on in modern attire and becomes a new local landmark.

Along with the other winner projects, the Old Mill Hotel will be presented in a traveling exhibition called “The City and the World” that travels throughout Europe opening in Athens, Greece, in 2017. Additionally, all winning projects will also be published in the catalogue “New International Architecture” by Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd.
