SOLARKIOSK nominated for Encouraging Sustainability Award
The GRAFT project SOLARKIOSK is one of six finalists for the 2015 Encouraging Sustainability Award that is given out annually by ZEIT WISSEN magazine.
The award aims to recognize projects and initiatives from economy and science that contribute in a significant way to sustainable development. The award will honor winners in two categories: SOLARKIOSK AG is nominated in the category ‘Action’, which targets initiatives or companies with programs that make everyday life more sustainable. In the category ‘knowledge’, nominees include initiatives involved with education and research with a focus on sustainability.
Since 1946, the German publishing company ‘Zeitverlag’ has published the successful weekly magazine DIE ZEIT, which is noted for its journalistic excellence. With a circulation of roughly 500,000, DIE ZEIT is the most widely read national newspaper in Germany. In 2004 Zeitverlag introduced the science magazine ZEIT WISSEN which reaches 1 million readers. Since the magazine’s first issue, the topic of sustainable development has been a subject of growing importance. In February 2012 a new section, „Environment and Society“ was introduced along with a regular feature on sustainability.
